This is a style checker, not an AI detector. No tool, ours or any commercial "AI detector," can reliably determine whether a specific passage was written by a person or a model; treat any product that claims otherwise with real skepticism. What this does instead: flag nine specific patterns that read as generic and erode an evaluator's trust, regardless of how the text was actually produced. A human can write these patterns too, and fixing them is worth doing either way.

Longer passages (a full cover letter, a full summary) give more reliable signal than a single sentence. Nothing is saved or sent; closing this tab clears everything.

High-risk passages

Sentences where two or more tells overlap in the same passage. This is the strongest signal in the whole scan: any single tell can happen by accident, but co-occurrence is what an evaluator's pattern-recognition actually catches. Fix these first.
